Be sure and visit the Oldest Steam Powered Cider Mill in the United States! A winery, producing hard ciders and apple wines. Located in the Village of Old Mystic, Connecticut on North Stonington Road. For more information call (860) 536-3354. A visit to Clyde's Cider Mill is like stepping back in time. Come see the only steam powered cider mill in the U.S.
The mill opens for the season on the 1st of August with an assortment of hard ciders, apple wines, jams, jellies, local honey, maple syrup, fudge, and local produce. As Summer turns to Fall they will start making what many have said, "Is the best sweet cider on Earth!" The sweet cider will be pressed fresh daily, from Labor Day until late December. With special demonstrations Saturday and Sunday at 11 am, 1 pm, and 3 pm. Also available in the Fall are apples, apple pies, pumpkin bread, gourds, Indian corn, pumpkins, candy apples, and their own fresh Johnny Cake Meal ground on the premises in the circa 1920 Grist Mill.
So take a break from the oridianry and visit a National Historic Landmark and see the 6th generation of the Clyde family making cider just like B.F. Clyde did in 1881.
